Emma Kate grew up dancing in Auckland. She trained primarily in jazz (JDNZ), ballet (RAD), and contemporary (NZAMD).

She started dancing professionally at 17 years old with Auckland’s Encore Cabaret, Diamond Entertainment, and later on Street Candee Dance Company. Emma Kate lived in the United States (New York and then Los Angeles) for four years to further her training and dance professionally. She has worked as a professional commercial dancer alongside musical artists including Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Meghan Trainor, Paula Abdul, and Ricky Martin. Her work spans music videos, live performances, film and TV.

More recently, Emma Kate has trained and battled in Street Styles as well as trained and worked as a professional Samba dancer.

A recent project she has worked on is choreographing a live show at the Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand through Les Follies.
