Abby is absolutely passionate about movement, what it does to nourish the body and how it makes us feel.
Early years saw Abby completing examinations and performances in Ballet, Jazz and Tap in Hamilton while also dancing competitively from the age of 9.
At 18, she went on to the Apollo Theatre School to complete her full-time professional training, gaining a Diploma of Musical Theatre while also carrying out her teaching qualification studies.
Abby debuted her professional career in the role of Dance Educator for the Royal New Zealand Ballet Company, travelling the country alongside the company. She then began her first of 5 contracts as a dancer with Princess Cruises amongst moving to Mumbai, India for a contact, dancing in 13 Bollywood films. Abby also performed for a short stint with South African Dance Company ‘Afro Arimba’ on a world cruise on board Costa Deliziosa, Costa Cruises.
Her early career also saw her involved in corporate gigs, cheerleading, brand ambassador/promotional work, modelling/pageants, workshop management, seminars and mentoring.
Having also discovered a passion for fitness, kicked off by becoming a qualified Zumba instructor in 2010 and engaging with a personal trainer and nutritionist, Abby then began study while abroad to become a qualified Personal Trainer herself!
Beginning at Les Mills Hamilton, in 2017 Abby then spread her wings, leaving the gym chain to begin her own business in a dedicated boutique space with a team of her own.
In 2018, Studio Glow was awarded Studio of the year and became a popular and very special space for women and children to experience movement in a unique dedicated womens-only studio. In 2023, Abby was also awarded the Leadership award at the Exercise NZ Awards for her dedication to the industry.
In 2024, having settled in Tauranga and closing the Hamilton studio last year, Abby still continues to offer services in Dance and Fitness under Studio Glow - group dance and fitness classes, personalised movement coaching for dancers, performance/competitive choreography, wedding dances, adjudication, guest/master class teaching and workshops over the country as well as being the head of the Exercise Professionals Network of Aotearoa.
Abby adores drawing passion out of, and feeding knowledge into every human she has the pleasure of working with!
